System Bet
System bet is an exciting betting strategy that allows you to wager on multiple games without needing all your selections to be successful before winning the bet.
In this case, what you will win depends on the amount you stake, the number of odds in your bet slip and the number of games you believe will be correct in your selection.
It is a very profitable bet type that gives you the chance to make a wrong prediction and still walk away with some funds.
Simply put, a system bet is a combination of different accumulator bets that makes it possible to get a payout even if one or more of the selections are lost. Although it is not as popular as accumulator bets, system bets are gradually gaining traction.
It is now available on some of the top betting sites in Nigeria. Unlike acca bets that require all the events on your slip to come in as predicted, system bets afford you a soft landing and access to some cash even if all the matches in your multibets do not click.
What is a System Bet?
System bet is a type of betting strategy that gives you the chance to bet on up to 8 multibet selections, depending on the terms set by the bookmaker. All these selections do not have to be correct for you to win your bet.
This is why many punters consider a system bet as a less risky and potentially more profitable strategy than accumulator bets. Aside from the possibility of making huge profits, system bet also gives you a shot at getting a percentage of your stake back.
This is because the risk has been minimised as it ensures you enjoy the best of both worlds: an opportunity to walk away with something, even if some of the events on your betslip decide to fail you.
For example, if you place a system bet on 5 multiple selections and only 3 are won, you will still earn some money.
Certainly, the funds will not be as high as they should be if the entire 5 selections had come through, but it still represents a form of profit and some money back in your pocket for future betting purposes.
How Does a System Bet Work?
When you want to place a system bet, you will select different events and combine them on your bet slip. Afterwards, a pair of possible outcomes will be created from your selections. You will then decide how many of those possible outcomes will be correct for you to win your bet.
The odds of each pair of possible outcomes are then calculated by multiplying the individual bets.
For instance, if you select 4 games, the odds for the games will be combined to form a system bet. A pair of possible results will be formed for each game, thereby creating a total of 6 accumulators.
The odds of each line on the accumulator will be multiplied and added together. If you are banking on two of those possible outcomes to be correct and it happens that way, you will win some money even if the remaining.
A system bet can be placed on any type of sports and any betting market, depending on the terms set by the bookmaker. In this case, your bet slip must have at least 3 events and a maximum of 8 selections.
So, when you place your bet, you will get to decide how many of the combinations you think will be successful. If the number of combinations you chose ends up as predicted, you will win something, whether or not the remaining selections come through.
Examples of System Bets
Now let’s show you some examples so you can get a good picture of how system bets work.
2/3: You have 3-fold multibet and you believe 2 of them will be successful
3/5: This means you are expecting to win 3 of 5 selections
4/6: You have six combinations on your bet slip, and you are hoping that at least four of them will come through
6/8: It means you are hoping that 6 out of 8 selections will be successful.
Now, let’s give you a picture of the 2/3 system bet example. Choose three different matches that you want to bet on.
Let’s say you have decided to place a bet on:
Arsenal Vs Manchester City
Monaco Vs PSG
Lazio Vs Inter
If you are choosing the 1x2 market and you are backing Man City to win at odds of 2.20, PSG to win at odds of 2.30 and Inter to win at odds of 1.90, system bets give you all the possible two-bet combinations with three betting series displayed on your slip.
If Man City and PSG win their games and Inter loses to Lazio, you will win something.
Bet1: Man City Win 2.20 and PSG Win 2.30
Bet2: Man City Win 2.20 and Inter Win 1.90
Bet3: PSG Win 2.30 and Lazio Win 2.30
If the bet ends this way, it means you have lost one leg because Inter did not win. However, you will still win some payout because you got 2 out of 3 predictions correctly. So, if you placed ₦1,000 on the 2/3 system bet, you will win based the System bet calculator below:
Bet 1: Man City Win 2.20 and PSG Win 2.30
Bet 3: PSG Win 2.30 and Lazio Win 2.30
That means your system bet payout will be calculated as follows:
(₦1,000 X 2.20 X 2.30) + (₦1,000 x 2.30 X 2.30)
₦4,840 + ₦5,290 = ₦10,130
You would have won a whopping ₦10,130 with just a stake of ₦1,000.
This is why we would recommend that you place a system bet today.
It has a very good probability of winning, and it is not as risky as accumulator bets, in which all your selections have to click for you to win your bet.

System Bet Pros
System bets offer more flexibility and reduce risk compared to traditional multi-bets. Here are the main benefits:
Partial Wins Possible: You can still earn a payout even if not all your selections win.
Lower Risk Than Accumulators: Unlike accumulators, one or two losses don’t automatically void your entire bet.
Flexible Betting Strategy: You can combine multiple selections in various ways to suit your risk level.
Ideal for Experienced Bettors: Gives more control and strategic depth for those familiar with different bet types.
More Frequent Returns: Since payouts are possible from smaller combinations, you may see more frequent wins.
System Bet Cons
While system bets offer flexibility, they also come with downsides that can affect your profits and overall strategy:
Lower Overall Payouts: Since you're covering multiple combinations, your stake is split, which reduces your potential winnings compared to a full accumulator.
Higher Total Stake Required: System bets involve several combinations, so your total stake increases quickly. For example, a 3/4 system bet means placing four bets instead of one.
Complex to Understand: Compared to single or accumulator bets, system bets can be confusing for beginners due to multiple combinations and payout structures.
Partial Wins May Not Cover Losses: If only a few selections win, your return might be lower than your total stake, resulting in a loss even if you technically "won" part of the bet.
Not Ideal for Small Bankrolls: Because of the increased total stake needed, system bets may not suit bettors working with limited funds.
